ASPs for 60W equivalent LED bulbs have fallen 28% in a year. LEDinside expect the decreasing LED bulb price trend to continue throughout 2014. Of particular note is the price decreases in China, which has the most aggressive LED adoption policy. Here, 10.8W bulbs with a luminous flux of 810lm (60W equivalent) decreased 50% in price from US$30 to US$15. This is significantly below the global 60W equivalent LED bulb ASP of US$21.20, suggesting meaningful promotions and subsidies in the Chinese market.
Remember, the China government has set a 2020 target production value of CNY1 trillion (US$164 billion) for all types of LED products, with 70% of the value to come from LED lighting.
The target production value for 2020 is double the CNY500 billion set for 2015 in China’s 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015), and the corresponding proportion for LED lighting is 40% higher than the 30% set in the 12th plan.
